2016: A Year in Review + My Wedding Couples

Sunday, January 1, 2017

Oh my, what a year it’s been! I’ve had the honor of another wedding season filled with some amazing couples. The weddings have been everywhere: from Connecticut to Bermuda, New Orleans to Cape Cod. The styles ranged from whimsical to classic, black tie to backyard chic. One thing remained true, though: my brides and grooms themselves were kind, easygoing, and passionate about the style of their wedding (and the stationery was an important detail to celebrate that style!). Here is just a sample of some of the 2016 Roseville couples, though each bride + groom has been a wonderful gift to me. Thank you to all of you who trusted me with such important details for your big day. It’s an honor to create something that you’ll look back on for years to come.

But the best gift of all this year has been our baby girl, Layla June. Born on 12/10/16 (a day after her due date), she has been an absolute joy. She was so considerate in coming full term so I could get all my 2016 weddings done (the last order shipped out 3 days before her arrival!). And now she is being rewarded with my full heart + full focus as we say goodbye to 2016. Though I am taking some time to enjoy time with my girls, I cannot wait to see what the 2017 season brings!

Wishing you all a new year full of hope + excitement!

WeddingWire 2016 Couples’ Choice Award Winner

Wednesday, January 6, 2016

What a thrill to hear that for the third straight year, Roseville Designs has received The 2016 WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award! The award recognizes the top five percent of wedding professionals in the WeddingWire Network who demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness + professionalism. What makes this award extra special is that it’s solely based on reviews from our wonderful couples.

They say at restaurants that people come because of the food, and return because of the service. For me, often what reels people in is the pretty paper they see on my website or Instagram, but I truly believe that people book me because of what I offer beyond an online shop or paperie. An award like this means that I’m delivering on my promises. This year one of my goals is to streamline my processes even further so I can deliver even more to future clients. Stay tuned!

Introducing The Rosy Collection 2015

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Today I’m thrilled to finally release my refreshed ready-made wedding invitation collection. The Rosy Collection includes 8 new suites, with the remaining 19 updated for the 2015 season!

modern affordable wedding invitations

Though there are a lot of new designs, the purpose of the collection remains the same: to provide a budget-friendly invitation option for modern couples who have great style + a vision for their wedding! What makes this different than going to your local paperie or online stationery site? If you become a collection client, you’re still a Roseville client. All those perks you get working with me as your paper planner still apply. (Want to know what it means to be a Roseville client? Email me for more details.) Corresponding day-of paper designs (escort cards, menus, etc.) are available for all suites as well!

Head over to the new + improved Rosy Collection webpage to peruse all the suites + fun new details. There is also a digital Rosy Collection Guide which is available to potential clients + wedding planners.

(Thanks to Kate Maxwell Photography for her amazing photography + co-paper styling talents!)

Introducing Finny Lou

Monday, July 28, 2014

The last 10 days have been quite a whirlwind at Roseville Designs. On Friday, July 18th we welcomed our baby girl into this world. Finley Louise arrived happy, healthy, and with what appears to be a head full of red hair.

Life has changed dramatically, and for the better. We’re taking a little time to experience all these special moments (and being available for constant diaper changes), but are looking forward to starting up the 2015 season with new client meetings and more at the end of August.

For now, feel free to email with questions or thoughts, but expect possibly a minor delay in response as we take in long nights, little gurgles, and the exciting new title of mom.

Member of Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book!

Friday, May 23, 2014

Today I have some very exciting news to share! Style Me Pretty contacted me earlier this week inviting me to apply for their exclusive Little Black Book. It is a collection of very select wedding vendors, and I’m happy to let my readers know after my screening process (which felt like applying to college again!), I was accepted! Style Me Pretty is the go-to resource for brides on gorgeous weddings, and I’m pumped to be a part of it.

I talked about dreams + goals at the end of 2013. I wrote about throwing caution to the wind. But sometimes unexpected ones come that you don’t even write down, because it’s just not on your radar. Today is a good reminder that aiming high is the only way to go in small business.

Introducing the Rosy Collection

Monday, September 9, 2013

This business season has been a whirlwind of excitement + amazing opportunities. As I’ve been pouring my heart  + soul into my work, I’ve also been keeping notes on things. Things like trends, client expectations, mistakes I’ve made; it’s a testament to the value of experience + the last several months have been chock-full of ’em.

The biggest trend I came across was why people came to me. A lot of them arrived on the heels of a not-so-great experience somewhere else. They went to their local paperie and flipped through books. When they asked if they could combine the layout of this invitation with the fonts of that invitation, the answer was often no. Some of them went to the online order sites. They could customize as they pleased, but their vendor relationship was with a computer and a formatted box that simply said “notes”.

Though these options are great for some people, my clients wanted more. My bride + groom cared a lot about their wedding, loved the process of having a design consultation (how could you not at the fabulous Wedding Loft?), and saw working with me as a fun process. They had a pretty clear idea of what their big day was all about, and were looking for someone to translate it for them. And fortunately I speak the language of  paper + design pretty well.

But that fluency must come at a cost. Time is money, people, and it was becoming clear that I wasn’t getting paid enough for mine. So how could I continue to give that special level of service I set out to offer when I started this business, be understanding of people’s budget restraints, and bring home some bacon at the end of the day?

Enter the Rosy Collection.

{All photos courtesy of Brooke Allison Photo}

The Rosy Collection is my version of semicustom designs, which includes over 20 wedding invitation suites (and can be adjusted for save the dates, or any party!). What makes my collection different is that you have the streamlined process of choosing a design (being able to customize colors, fonts, and wording), while still getting plus-ups and details that my clients have come to love. So two brides may choose the same design, but the final result can be starkly different.

Thanks to my girl at Little Random Details for the amazing crafty details that enhanced my styled paper. And most especially, a humongous debt of gratitude to my photographer friend and co-paper stylist Brooke Allison Photo. Your skills + general giddiness when choosing props and background paper mean more than you probably know.

And to my clients, because getting emails like this is what I dreamed about when I started this biz:

We chose you 🙂 !  Not only are you professional and kind but you are incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in what we are looking for.  As soon as we left, my fiance said she is hands down the best fit for us and I couldn’t agree more.

This is just an added branch to the Roseville tree, as custom design work will still make up for a large part of my business. To peruse the full collection, check out the Rosy Collection Page on the website. There’s also a design guide that will be available to all clients who inquire! The Wedding Page has some great links to more of my work as well.

I look forward to seeing where this new venture leads, and rest assured more collections are in the works (including save-the-dates and baby paper goodness). So be sure to check back often!
