I’ve got another great feature to share; this time it’s for the sexy Shades of Grey wedding photo shoot we did with Amy Champagne Events + BSC Photo. It’s currently gracing the pages of the Fall/Winter issue of Connecticut Bride Magazine, on newsstands now! Amy had a great concept, which was a “grey tie wedding” . Black tie’s sexier cousin, it’s edgy, modern + sleek. My penchant for bright colors was put to the test here, as I stuck with only grey tones. Restraint can sometimes be the hardest thing as a designer, but that was the only way to go with this concept. We also played around with mixed materials, including leather for an offbeat envelope “sleeve” and a uniquely shaped menu card. Belles Lettres Calligraphy brought it all together with the elegant yet masculine calligraphy on both. We also tried to find ways to incorporate gobo lighting. I set the type for a projected menu that Shindig Lighting executed flawlessly in the space. We created flat escort cards to complement the invitation suite, along with place cards that wrapped around the champagne flute stem. Lovely Cakes created a plethora of grey confections. Such a statement this dessert table makes! BSC Photo proves the old saying: a picture is worth a thousand words.
