The Ultimate Guide to the Best Wedding Websites

Today I’m excited to share the ultimate guide to wedding websites! I did a ton of research to find the best free and paid wedding website services, and put together my top 3 website services for newly engaged couples to consider!Whenever I get to the phase of working out the details of the entire wedding invitation suite, I always come to the stage where brides ask me what to include on their the card. The answer depends on different factors (check out my essential info card blog post here), but I ALWAYS instruct my brides to have a wedding website. It doesn’t need to be the most beautiful or most expensive option, but it needs to be fluid. In other words, you need a website so that you can continue to update information.

And here are my top 3 reasons why you need a wedding website….

:: plans change ::Hotel blocks book up, restaurants close. Your website allows you to change details so that nothing that is written on a printed info card becomes inaccurate.

:: registry info is a no-no on your invitation ::Your guests may have perused your registry for the shower, but it’s often months later that they buy your wedding gifts. Memories are short, and since you cannot put registry info anywhere on your invitation suite (nope, not even on the details card!), the website is the perfect place for this info.

:: you don’t need guests calling you ::You’ve got enough going on without guests contacting you or your parents to ask “where is the best hotel in the area?” or “Which airport should I fly into?” All the nitty-gritty can go on your site so people aren’t hounding you for random info. Wedding websites are a huge help to not only brides, but to their guests.

And now, here are some of my favorite wedding website options:

AppyCouple

AppyCouple is great because its focus is on creating a seamless app (though you will get a website too). Since most of us are getting are information on our smartphones, this is a great choice for our digital age. The themes are also really sleek and professional.Price: $35 – $65 one-time payment)

Riley & Grey

This is a more expensive option, but the templates are gorgeous and there are special features like custom domains and RSVP support. *It is worth noting that a nice, short URL is a major plus when designing the invitation suite. A long URL can look clunky and be hard to fit on a pretty insert card.Price: ($35/month or $240/year)

Joy

I wanted to be sure I included a free option, and Joy is the best one out there in my opinion. It has nice design elements and a lot of features for a free service.Price: FreeSo there it is, folks! I hope this has been a helpful guide as you venture into wedding planning.
