I’m so excited to finally share this edgy Rock & Roll photo shoot we did last fall, as it’s now featured on Borrowed & Blue Greenwich! When Ashley Douglass approached me about this one, I was pumped. I’m crazy for music + lyrics, and love pushing the envelope (pun intended) when it comes to design. This shoot let me do that in spades, and I loved her vision. Ashley Therese Photography captured it all impeccably, per usual!I played around with color blocking, asymmetry + reflections on this project. I kept in mind the shapes of CDs and records (yes, back in the day that’s how we got our music!), and opted for an oversized square invite. I also created a custom envelope with sparkle liner. The Miles Davis postage stamp was the cherry on top! The Keeler Tavern Museum in Ridgefield, CT was a great neutral backdrop for our brimming-with-details shoot.I love how Ashley + Alison from The Plumed Serpent styled the bride in a sweet gown but kept a bit of edge with her leather jacket. Truly a breath of fresh air!I couldn’t do this shoot without including some lyrical quote signage. These always make for great photo-ops at wedding receptions. The linens from Nuage Designs had a serious wow factor. When it comes to rock & roll, sometimes you just have to go for it. Silver, sequins, chevron, houndstooth…why not?I got to play my part in the tablescape with the round menus, which sat on top of vintage 45 records inside the plates. For more rock & roll goodness, head over to Borrowed & Blue for the full feature!
