LA Pride Parade
The WIPA SoCal board had the honor of being chosen as a participant in the 2023 LA Pride Parade, and last week was the big day! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend, but was so happy I could contribute with designing + printing the signage for my fellow board members + industry leaders.
Behind the scenes there was so much work not only to prepare our section of the parade, but even applying was a lengthy + involved process. The LA Pride Board wants to ensure that the organizations that march are putting in a sustained effort to support + promote the LGBTQA+ community, and not simply use this platform as a way to promote their business.
Gay marriage only became legal in 1996 (crazy, I know!), and as an organization of wedding professionals, we want to spread awareness + support that weddings are for all. We in LA have a thriving queer community, and some of my most exciting + memorable weddings have been for same-sex couples.
One of the signs I got to make was for my lovely real couple, Turi + Brianna! They got married earlier this year, and many WIPA SoCal vendors were part of it. The girls came along with us for the march, and it was so fun to have clients along for the ride.
