Rachel + Andrew | Classic White Inn at Mystic Wedding

If you know me, you know I’m all about color. I love bright clothes, I have kids with bright red hair, and I love bright-colored weddings. But with that said, I can still appreciate the classic beauty of a black + white wedding. And that’s exactly what Rachel + Andrew at at the Inn at Mystic this past June.

Rachel was referred to me by her future sister-in law Liz, whom I worked with on their beautiful Branford House Wedding. (It is so gratifying to get referrals from past clients, because it affirms that they really saw value in working with me.) Rachel wanted an invitation that was clean + classic, so the focus for her suite was finding the perfect fonts and a special add-on to give it that truly custom feel. We decided on a vellum belly band, and added a little twist by having it go across horizontally vs. the typical vertical wrap.

Haley Mansion at the Inn at Mystic is this quintessential New England home (white of course), and their tent for the reception was draped in white fabric. It was the perfect setting for a black tie affair! For day-of paper, Rachel fell in love with the bud vase escort card display she saw on my Instagram that we did for a past bride. (A great reminder to brides of the value in following your vendors on Instagram. Lots of inspiration that you know can be executed IRL!) I love that she had that subtle pop of color with the blush florals, including in the bud vases + in her bouquet. The display is one of those great two-in-one wedding elements: it serves as escort cards but also adds to the floral decor once at the table! Actually in the cases three-in-one, because guests can take them home as favors!
