Pantone has declared the color of the year as emerald (more specifically, color #17-5641). For those of you who don’t know, Pantone is the leading standard in color matching. This system has been adopted by graphic designers and printers to allow for exact color matching, and is a great source for color inspiration! No doubt that emerald is going to be huge in 2013. It evokes feelings of glitz and opulence for me, but when I was researching for this post I found that it was actually quite a versatile color. In addition to emerald as a glamorous jewel tone, it can also be a great color for a more earthy projects (think rustic wooden tables with mossy green centerpieces). Here’s a little taste of what emerald can do for you and your next soirée!
