Romantic Lavender Wedding Shoot | Featured on The White Wren

Features

This week our romantic Los Angeles wedding styled shoot at Lavender Marketplace is featured on The White Wren blog!

When Lorie from H&L Lovely asked me to come on, I couldn’t resist the romantic wedding details and color palette full of soft purple hues. Styled shoots are often about what’s trendy, which can be super fun, but there’s something to be said for a timeless look!

Ellen and Nick’s initial weddings plans were cancelled due to COVID, so it was really nice for them as our models to have that intimate wedding experience and get all dolled up for photos! Ellen’s look felt so natural among the greenery + flowers, and The Lavender Marketplace in Sierra Madre was the perfect venue.

For their custom wedding invitation suite, I wanted to add a lot of texture but keep the invitation design itself simple + elegant. The font I chose had movement and elegance, just like the wedding gown and hair style. (Yes, I get inspiration for my wedding paper designs from ALL aspects of the wedding!) I wrapped the suite in a soft pink leather wrap, and sealed it with soft grey hand-dyed silk ribbon and a very organic-looking wax seal. It’s nice to step away from the basic round stamp of the seal, and play around with shapes + edges. After all, back in the day when people actually used wax seals for letters, they looked more like this anyway! But my favorite detail is the embossed floral envelope liner. Isn’t it a beauty?

I introduced the wax seal again on the menu cards. Each was wrapped with a vellum belly band that served as a place card, and was tied around with a wax seal + thread. A labor of love, but fortunately I only needed to make 8! The table was so beautifully adorned with floral centerpieces, our table number, a soap favor, and the loveliest of table linens! It felt like something out of Bridgerton, but updated for modern times. I love when a wedding look transports you to another time + place!

Scroll down for the full vendor reel. I got to work with some new vendors for this one, and I was so impressed with their work + dedication.
